There are 13 questions for you to answer on this page. This should take you 5-10 minutes. All prompts open on this page, so you don’t need to navigate to a separate browser window. To close a prompt, click the 'X' in the top-right corner of the pop-up box. There are two different prompt types:

Text entry prompt:

Feel free to add a comment, read through other responses, and thumb up or down if you agree or disagree.

Map prompt:

Some prompts direct you to place a pin on a map, then add a comment. Notice that you can select the 'Location Type'  on some before placing your pin.

This symbol in the top right corner will allow you to toggle between commenting and map information. If you're in 'commenting' mode, clicking on the map will place a pin and open a pop-up box. Please note that you cannot move the pin once you've clicked on the map, but the pin does not show up on the map until you hit 'Save.'

  1. Click anywhere on the map to place a pin
  2. Enter a comment or "N/A"
  3. If the question is asking you to specify a location type, select from the drop down menu.

Feel free to read through other responses and thump up or down if you agree or disagree.

Housing

In 2021, the Washington Legislature changed the way communities plan for housing by requiring jurisdictions to plan for and accommodate housing affordable to all income levels, including moderate to extremely low-income households, as well as emergency housing and permanent supportive housing. Some of the substantial changes include that the County must:

  • Plan for housing by income band;
  • Provide housing capacity for emergency housing, emergency shelters, and permanent supportive housing;
  • Implement policies and regulations to address and begin to undo racially disparate impacts, displacement, and exclusion in housing caused by local policies, plans and actions; and
  • Allow at least two accessory dwelling units on all lots within residential zones within the Seaview Urban Growth Area (UGA).

Climate Change

New Washington Legislation that was enacted in 2023 requires communities to include a Climate Element and resilience sub-element in their comprehensive plans. This new element must include goals and policies to improve climate preparedness, response, and recovery efforts. The element must also maximize economic, environmental, and social co-benefits and prioritize environmental justice to avoid worsening environmental health disparities.
